Stats

Ok, well I definitely overdid it this week, and gained back one of the pounds I lost last week so I'm at 191. That's okay though. This whole process is about learning how to eat healthfully and mindfully so I can enjoy what I eat while losing weight. Certainly I won't be eating McDonalds for a while unless I get a salad and a water! The key is to not beat myself up about it because that is counterproductive. We Americans still suffer from the Puritanical views of our ancestors and it is especially present in our attitudes towards food. Things are "bad", "guilty pleasures", "decadent". I'm guilty of using this vocabulary myself right here on this blog. It's hard to eliminate the ideas that have been handed down to us over the centuries but it's important to continue to try. As long as we continue feel deprived, we will have a tendency to overindulge. Allow yourself small indulgences and just don't overdo it. Set your own guidelines. You have to do what works for you. Only then will you succeed at losing weight or maintaining weight loss.
