We went out to lunch to a restaurant called Salsaritas and I neglected to take my camera with me. Bad blogger! But I ordered a water and something called a Taco Pizza which was a crispy tortilla, topped with guacamole, cheese, chopped tomato, cilantro and onion and a smidgen of seasoned ground beef. I'm guessing the whole thing was about 500 calories and I only ate half.
For dinner we went out again. Geez! What are we doing??? We went to a pizza place called Brixx but I couldn't face pizza again so I ordered a caesar salad with shrimp. My sister ordered an appetizer of bruschetta and that was delicious!
I was also naughty and had this:

Soda at a restaurant is just SO good! Hard to resist!
My brother-in-law ordered a BBQ pizza and I had a couple of bites of that. Here's a shot of the pizza:
My salad came to the table and I was really looking forward to it because I love Caesar salad and grilled shrimp. It's just a fabulous combination.
Unfortunately for me, this was just so-so. I was wishing I had eaten more than one piece of bruschetta!
Tomorrow will be a homemade food day as we're definitely not going to be eating out that much anymore. Today was restaurant day mainly because I spent a good part of the day cleaning up the playroom and the kitchen and was just too tired to imagine messing up more pots and pans. I find when I eat out a lot I get bored and want to eat at home so I'm really looking forward to tomorrow!

Hey.
One of my all time favorite recipes (shrimp caesar, even) is the following:
(From Martha Stewart Everyday mag)
Caesar Salad with Spicy SHrimp
4 corn tortillas
2 t canola oil
1 1/2 t chili powder
3/4 lb medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
1/3 cp mayo
2 T lime juice
2 T grated (fresh) parmesan, plus more for garnish
4 anchovie fillets
1 large head romaine lettuce
Preheat to 375.
Place tortillas on a baking sheet, bursh both sides with 1t oil, sprinkle with 1/2 t chili powder, season with salt and pepper (I use coarse). Bake until golden brown and crisp, turn once, 8-10 minutes. Let cool, break into pieces.
Heat broiler, toss shrimp in a large bowl with remaining teaspoon of oil and chili powder. Season with s&p. Lay shrimp flat on a broiler pan, cook turning once, about 3 to 4 minutes.
In a small bowl, shisk together mayo, lime juice, parm, anchovies, and up to 2 T water. Season with s&p.
To serve, toss lettuce with dressing. DIvide among plates, and top eachwith shrimp and broken tortillas. Garnish with more fresh parmesan.
IT doesn't get much better that this one
To see a picture, or to print it, just do a search for "caesar salad with spicy shrimp". It's there. (can't put in the link, it's too long.)
Mmmm! That looks delicious! I'm going to try that this weekend.
Do you like grits? I have an awesome recipe for BBQ shrimp and grits that will knock your socks off.
